Why Is Obesity
Hard On Health?
You've been told
for years that being fat is bad for your heart. But why is it,
exactly?
One reason recently
discovered in a study by the Boston University School of Medicine is
that obese people have higher levels than thin people of free radicals,
substances in the body that damage cells.
An oversupply of
free radicals, known as "oxidative stress," is thought to
contribute to heart disease.
The study, with
2,828 people in the Framingham (Mass.) Heart Study, was reported in the
March issue of Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.
Here's a hint: look
for antioxidants on our products page...grape seed extract, etc.
